Pi Gamma Mu Florida Eta Chapter

Welcome USF students,

I bet you are looking at this page because you received an email inviting you to join PGM. A few are even asking "Why me? I really messed up at another college." The answer is really simple. I don't care about your past at other schools. The only numbers that matter to me is your current USF GPA. I'm also forgiving if your GPA is dragged down by grades that are older than incoming freshmen. Everyone is entitled to outlive your past, even on an official transcript.

Florida Eta, USF's chapter, is a nationally recognized chapter for our leadership, service projects, and work with other student organizations to enrich our community.

We accept application from undergraduates, graduate, post graduate and alumni. All Graduate level students are invited to join. The USF graduate school's highly competative application process is much higher than the chapters so everyone in admited to the graduate school qualify.

We have initiation in November and April each year. If your application arrives more than 2 days after initiation, your application will be held until the next semester. Students attending Initiation recieve an honor cord. If you wish to recieve your certificate at initiation, you must have the application and fees in by March 1st for Spring and Oct 1st for fall. You may bring your application to initiation and your certificate will be mailed to you about 4 weeks after the ceremony. All certificates orginate at our national headquarters so I have no control over when they will be created or mailed to me for signing by the current president and vice president, then mailed out to new members.

Our online application emails your application and takes you to a page with payment options including credit cards and paypal. Our local and national dues are $70 for life membership. You will never be asked for dues again from our chapter or our national organization!

The print and mail form is fast and easy if you want to pay by check.

Please note that Florida Eta can only accept application from student and alumni of the University of South Florida. Students from other schools need to contact their chapter sponsor or PGM Headquarters about joining.

Organized outreach and charitable activities
Sponsors lectures and conferences
Attend regional and national conferences (If you are presenting, 100% of travel, room and food is paid. If not presenting, you pay for your own food.)
Travel grants to present at professional conferences.
Hold monthly meetings.

To join at USF, you need to be...

Junior or Senior standing
3.4 overall GPA
20 or more Semester hours in the social sciences with "A" or "B"
Major in the Social Sciences which include
